 As founder and incumbent chairman of the “Cabindan National Movement” my civic commitment, which consists in earnestly urging United Nations (UN) member States to help put an end to the military occupation and ensuing colonization of Cabinda by Angola, at the end of the day, coincides with the great assignment of the UN that consists in promoting international order of justice and peace.  

The Cabindan National Movement was founded in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, in 1989. Since then the movement is making every endeavor to free Cabinda from the Angolan colonial yoke, in pursuance of the legal and historical factors that have permitted the Organization of African Unity (OAU) to impartially rank Cabinda in its list of the African countries as the 39^th State (still to be decolonized), with Angola as the 35^th, and permitted the UN to fairly define Cabinda as a Non-Self-Governing Territory within the meaning of Chapter XI of its own Charter. Therefore, the Cabindan National Movement is obviously acting in accordance with the provisions of the UN General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV) of 14 December 1960, concerning the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples; in conformity with the stipulations of Article 1 (Paragraphs 1 & 3) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights; and in the light of the UN General Assembly resolution 1807 (XVII) of 14 December 1962. All in all, the martyred people of Cabinda represented by MNC have good reasons to contend that the prevailing colonial conflict between Cabinda and Angola is a “Legal-Political Problem” that falls indisputably within the competence of the UN Office of Legal Affairs in general, and of the UN Special Committee on Decolonization in particular.

The Cabindan National Movement is essentially committed to contributing to the fulfillment of international order of justice and peace. Hence, it accepts in advance the obligations of peaceful settlement provided in the Charter of the United Nations. Its foreign policy, once Cabinda recovers its political sovereignty, is aimed at minimizing conflicts and promoting political and economic interdependence. It intends to make life easier for every Cabindan citizen just with thirty percent of each Cabindan natural resource, to devote ten percent to the African-Americans, and the remaining sixty percent to the rest of the human family, more particularly to the needy African countries.

Despite its current logistical shortages, MNC has no intention of compromising with injustice for its founding principle is to be the liberation movement that combines legitimacy, integrity, and the genuine desire to pursue its declared aims. In a word, the Cabindan National Movement’s task is to rekindle the hopes of the Cabindan children who have been deprived of our freedom, robbed of our natural wealth and resources, and plunged into hardship. On a transcendent level, its task is to honor all Cabinda citizens who have shed blood for our cherished People and Country. But then, in order to discharge its duty, it has to have recourse to the proponents of freedom, justice, peace, and the civilization of love that we hope you are.
